“Wait to you hear this girl’s voice.” This seems to be the common mantra heard after seeing this show and club owners agree. Soul Singer Emily Stanton is now filling a niche in the Boise music scene which has had a long-standing gap in the soul/r&b genres. Backed by a band of some of the finest musicians in the Northwest, this is a show you’ll want to experience!
Emily Stanton is an American soul/R&B vocalist, composer, lyricist and performer. Born in Boise, Idaho, she first became interested in music at an early age singing/playing the violin at age 6. Growing up, Stanton sang in choirs and played multiple instruments. At age 16, Emily was offered a job in a local cover band playing bars/clubs. “I remember taking my breaks outside because I wasn’t old enough to stay in the bar.” The fascination with live music grew.
Emily attended college at Boise State University to peruse her degree in Music Performance. After college, she moved and joined a bluegrass band that toured the Midwest. “I’ve always enjoyed playing different styles of music, but when I moved to Utah, I discovered soul.” She spent 6 months in Salt Lake City, Utah playing live shows and creating original music.
Upon moving back to Boise, she started The Emily Stanton Band (which has taken off so quickly it’s obvious to everyone that hears her voice that this is her true calling). “I’m so grateful to be pursuing my dream of writing, recording and sharing the stage with such an amazing band, I’m really looking forward to creating more funky, soulful tunes for the future.”
